View Full Version : Help with custom link syntax

Ricardo! Help me! :)

I am trying to pull listings from a specific neighborhood and my MLS has certain segments of the neighborhood listed under different area/community names. I am having two problems:

1. Community names with more than one word return an error. I thought the convention was to put a dash - in the name in place of any spaces, but this does not work.
This works: http://okcjulie.com/idx/area/gaillardia/
This does not work: http://okcjulie.com/idx/area/oak-tree/
(I get this error: We're sorry, but we ran into a temporary problem while trying to load the real estate data. Please check back soon.)

2. Apparently, I am flubbing the syntax when I am trying to make a query for more than one community. For example, these two (one word titled) communities have currently available listings, but my query to pull from both does not work:
This works: http://okcjulie.com/idx/area/gaillardia/
This works: http://okcjulie.com/idx/area/montereau/
This does not work: http://www.okcjulie.com/idx/?idx-q-Communities<0>=gaillardia&idx-q-Communities<1>=montereau
This does not work: http://www.okcjulie.com/idx/?idx-q-Areas<0>=gaillardia&idx-q-Areas<1>=montereau

Am I flubbing the syntax? Does that error mean the link is not properly formatted, or am I running up against a DB query limit of some type? I've been hitting it hard trying to get several custom links set up.
Thanks for your time!

Hi Julie,

Sorry for all the trouble. GoDaddy is often known to cause issues, but I've applied a change on our end that should resolve the activation problem. Please go ahead and activate the plugin and we should be all set from there. Let me know once you have it activated.

As for the link-structure, I can't properly see the links above since the plugin is in-active. But, your URL structure for the multiple communities looks correct: http://www.okcjulie.com/idx/?idx-q-Communities%3C0%3E=gaillardia&idx-q-Communities%3C1%3E=montereau.

You're using angle brackets before the value just like you're supposed to...
