    DS Mobile not working properly

    Hello,

I am having a bit of trouble with the DS Mobile product.

For example check this custom link I created:

    http://idx.diversesolutions.com/link/93913

When you open that link on a regular browser there are only 27 property listings that show as a result which is correct given the search parameters that I used for that custom link...

However when you open the link with a mobile browser it does redirect to the DS Mobile correctly but there are over 1,390 property listings showing as results which should not be the case....

Is there a problem with the DS mobile product and custom links?

The same holds true for pages within my site that use a custom link.. For instance this page:

    http://skyvillagerealty.com/real-est.../luxury-condos

There are 147 properties in the results of this custom link when viewed in a regular browser but when I open that same page with an iPhone the DS Mobile redirects correctly but is showing over 15,000 listings!

    Any ideas what is happening?

I also tested this with other people's websites that use custom links and the same is happening with their sites on a mobile browser...

    Thumbs up update?

    Hello,

any updates on this issue? has anyone even looked into this question?

Here is another example and not from my site. This is from Mike Mc Gee's Intown Real Estate site... not sure if he has caught this problem and reported it since he is one of the beta testers for your product..

In this page when viewed on a regular computer there are 65 listings as a result of the custom link but when viewed on a mobile browser there are about 234 results being populated by the link....

Agreed, I checked a few of my custom links and it's not working correctly. Ricardo, in the post you reference Andrew says the mobile version "ignores dsSearchAgent search criteria that the mobile search doesn't also support." In the custom link @gvidano posted the only criteria that I could see was a zip code. Surely the mobile version supports zip codes, right?

There was a problem with non-city locations. We fixed it was fixed yesterday though.

Custom links not working on ds search agent mobile

    Hi guys,

I am still having issues with custom links not working properly on mobile devices (tested on iPad and iPhone).

For example the below custom link is supposed to pull all condos listed for sale at address 1325 Pacific Highway in zip code 92101.

When you view the link on a regular computer or laptop the custom link works perfect. But when you open it on a mobile device it does not work at all.

    http://idx.diversesolutions.com/link/81105

I focus on selling condos in high rise buildings and the only way to search for all listings in a given building is by address so it is so important to my business for custom links to work properly when searching by address. Could someone please look into it and let me know if there is an issue with ds mobile when searching by address?

user @amattie said in another post that "DS Mobile purposefully ignores dsSearchAgent search criteria that the mobile search doesn't also support".... but ds mobile does support address search so not sure why this is not working...

    Thanks much!

@gvidano, I / we really do feel your pain here. While viewing the details for a single property by address is supported on mobile, viewing a list of properties filtered by address unfortunately isn't. That's why that link isn't working.

The reason we don't allow the criteria to filter through is because we don't want to confuse users by locking them into a search they can't change. In other words, if a user comes through via a link for an address and they decide they want to broaden their search, we believe they should be allowed to do that.

The fix we've been leaning towards is to show them some sort of notification when they refine their search. The notification would inform them -- to the extent appropriate on a small screen -- that they're searching within criteria they can't change. Then, if they so choose, they'd be able to clear all the unchangeable search criteria in one click / tap.

We'd love to hear your feedback on that.

    Hi Amattie,

Thanks for your reply. Honestly it would truly make a world of a difference if address search would work on mobile... at least for my business strategy. I focus on selling downtown condos and to view listings for a certain condo building this feature is the only way to go. I am sure other people selling condos would really appreciate some sort of 'fix' for this as well.

The fix you suggest I think is much better than no fix at all.

I think that going forward as more of your customers that sell downtown condos in any given city implement this mobile technology using custom links they would appreciate this feature working properly if they want to offer their users the option to search for condos by building.... and in my case most of the traffic on my site is people looking for condos for sale or rentals at a specific building.

    Thanks for your consideration!
