Search Widget Functionality Issue

We have the IDX Search widget set up with the Communities and Tracts fields displayed. It appears that once a Community is selected, the Tracts field is completely ignored unless you go back and change Communities back to Any. The way this functions is completely non-intuitive.

We've tested this with a few people and every single one ends up selecting a Community first and then cannot figure out why the Tracts selection doesn't work. If these are mutually exclusive, choosing one should force the other back to Any.

Is there any way to make this work correctly?
